As you progress from trainee to fully qualified electrician, earning potential increases significantly. The electrician salary in the UK rises with experience and qualifications, with professionals earning competitive incomes across domestic, commercial and renewable sectors. Typical salary ranges are outlined below.

Typical UK earnings

  • Level 2 Qualified Electrician: £28,000 – £35,000

  • Level 3 Qualified Electrician: £35,000 – £45,000

  • JIB Gold Card Electrician or Specialist: £45,000 – £65,000+

  • Self-Employed Electrician: £75,000+
